From the brilliant mind behind Oishi-M and Okki comes a bright, bold, kid-friendly clothing line.
After years in the clothing design industry, creating and owning two successful clothing brands, and learning all the tricks of the textile trade, Fiona McPherson opened her own workshop, and OkkiD was born.
Textile and fabric shops are Fiona’s playground. With a penchant for combining contrasting textures and patterns in her designs, the OkkiD brand is where her joy and passion for colour and texture is brought to life.
Born, created and sewn in Torquay, with designs and patterns that capture the beauty and wonder of the Great Ocean Road, OkkiD is a local brand through and through. Eye-catching, comfortable and made of quality fabric, these clothes are hard-wearing and long-lasting.
Over the years, Fiona has come up with a unique denim fit design. With a stretch waistband and adjustable leg length, the OkkiD denims are sure to fit kids of all shapes and sizes, as good clothing should.
The aim of the consumer game is to reduce the amount of waste we create, and OkkiD does this by ensuring that their clothes will last long enough to be handed down from your oldest to your youngest. Sustainability plays a significant role in the creation of these products, with "reduce, reuse, recycle" as the driving mantra behind the fabric and textile choices.
To further this sustainability ethos, items are only made to order through OkkiD’s online shop. This reduces waste and ensures that all items are bought and made in an eco-conscious and responsible way.
Fiona is also passionate about helping and supporting her local community and those in need. She ensures that her business represents her values and ideals, from sourcing materials and hiring staff to creating beautiful items and shipping them to customers.
When hiring staff, for example, Fiona turns to Diversitat. A not-for-profit charitable community service organisation, Diversitat supports multicultural communities and the disadvantaged and vulnerable in many different ways, including finding them fulfilling and meaningful work opportunities.
